SLEUTH is a play where the fabric of "one-up-man-ship" is woven into every page. A celebrated mystery writer, obsessed with games and detective thrillers, baits an unsuspecting young rival suitor to join him in his world where play and the mystery around "whodunnit" are the very air he breaths.
It's an exploration of class and generational gaps, the hunter and the hunted, the spider and his prey caught in a web. These characters puzzle through the exhilarating, rich landscape of Andrew Wyke's house of subterfuge. Points are volleyed back and forth and sex, love, status, revenge, honour and deception act as pieces on the chess board. Are they fighting for love? Or simply caught up in the seduction and obsession of their own egos? The play follows these expert game players as they spar in the ultimate contest of "Game, Set and Match!"

Review
Calgary Herald: Richards’ staging ensures that Sleuth is not some musty museum piece but a twisty and twisted, thoroughly engaging thriller.
